Media. Politics. Strategy.
Kamau M. Marshall has spent the last decade as a communications strategist while doing public engagement professionally at the highest levels of government, politics, and business. He served as the Director of Strategic Communications for the 2020 “Biden for President” campaign from launch in April 2019 through victory in November 2020.
Kamau also served as a Senior Advisor and Spokesperson for the 59th Presidential Inaugural Committee. Before joining the Biden campaign, he worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), where he was a team member that won back the House in 2018 for the first time since 2006, flipping the most seats from red to blue since 1974 -- working directly with the late Congressman John Lewis. Before the DCCC, he was the Communications Director to Congressman Al Green.
Kamau previously served in the Obama-Biden Administration as the Communications Advisor and Speechwriter at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Before his appointment, he served as a Special Assistant to the late Congressman Elijah E. Cummings. Earlier in his career, he worked at SKDKnickerbocker and for Senator Tom Carper.
